Ray Mears' various TV series have encouraged millions of us to gather their own food, visit a wilderness or just go camping! Ray said in a recent interview with The Herald "I think it's very important that people go outdoors and experience nature. I don't try to conquer mountains or cross continents, although there nothing wrong with that. For me the challenge is to get to know the environment and how it can be of use to us. Hopefully a hot summer and shows like Explore the Outdoors will encourage more people to enjoy nature.
